Extended Meaning

ọ̀bọ̀ refers to two trees in the Erythrophleum family, Erythrophleum suaveolens "the ordeal tree", most notable for its use in the poisonous concoction of "sassywood" in witch trials, and, Erythrophleum ivorense, which is also has some toxicity but was widely used in traditional medicine in treating ailments like anemia, and perhaps was used for fertility treatments.
