Meaning of Ṣóbọlá
The fertility deity met wealth.
The root Oṣó in most Yorùbá names comes from the deity of farming and fertility called Òrìṣà Oko. But the word "Oṣó" also means the same as "wizard" or "sorcerer" which is the interpretation that most people, including the name's most famous ambassador (Wọlé Ṣóyínka), uses.
